Sucker Rod
In the manual entry for syslogd, the author notes an interesting way to handle certain security threats (got this from loft ninjas).
Use step 4 and if the problem persists and is not secondary to a rogue program/daemon get a 3.5 ft (approx. 1 meter) length of sucker rod* and have a chat with the user in question

What day is it? I found this one by mistyping 'date'. I liked it so much I put a cron tab up to write it to /etc/motd. My co-workers thought we had been pwned. Nope, I jut got bored.

Ok well, rather than leaving this draft to linger, I realize that maybe Linux isn't that funny. And the command line interface least of all. I looked up some other linux easter eggs here. So much for exemplifying the nerdy sense of humor that I know and love.
To finish up with, here's a finalist from the Linux Foundation's video contest. It's French, it's about Linux, and it's funny.
It also doesn't seem to be loading (not very funny) (maybe the Linux foundation needs a decent video platform), so here's the link
